Scandinavian Minimal is a cosy short-term apartment in Milan near Milano Centrale. This apartment gives you a comfortable stay with a simple Nordic style and a welcoming feel for guests.

This apartment sits in a peaceful Milan neighborhood close to the station. It gives guests easy access to local cafes, restaurants, metro lines, and day trips across Italy. This apartment offers a full kitchen, a relaxing balcony, and a comfortable living area.

Property description

This apartment takes inspiration from my home country, Norway, and my intent is to welcome you into a space that feels calm, crisp, and light and at the same time gives that feeling of warm coziness that we call “hygge.”

Where You'll Stay

We’re in a residential neighborhood, just a 10-minute walk from Milano Centrale station. The area is authentic Milan, with local cafes, trattorias, and daily life happening around you.

What Makes This Space Special

One of the first things you’ll notice is the floor in herringbone pattern. We chose high-quality porcelain that perfectly mimics natural wood grain, giving you all the Nordic warmth without any of the fragility.

The walls are soft natural whites with one accent wall in warm taupe, creating that calm, minimal Nordic feel we wanted.

We chose prints from Norwegian artist Lisa Aisato, and I’m genuinely in love with them. She portrays people of all ages, colors, and forms in this enchanting, tender way. You can truly see her love for people and her understanding of the complexity of being human. They make me feel accepted and understood – and I hope they’ll make you feel welcome too.

The Bedroom: Rest & Recharge

The wood panel in the bedroom and several pieces of furniture are handmade and imported directly from an artisan in Norway three decades ago to make me feel at home in my new home country. They are as beautiful now as they were then. This is what gives the space that authentic feeling of “hygge” – that untranslatable Scandinavian concept of cozy comfort.

You’ll find a comfortable king-size double bed and a vintage wardrobe. All in natural tones with wood and wicker details.

The Balcony

This little balcony tucked into the inner courtyard, overlooking the rooftops, is my favorite place to have morning coffee. There’s a table and chairs for two, and it’s also perfect for watching the sunset with a glass of wine before heading out to dinner.

Kitchen & Living Room

The kitchen and living room area stays true to the palette – white and warm wood throughout, with a comfortable double sofa bed. We’ve hand-painted the kitchen table feet and created a tiny desk that fits the space perfectly, adding to that hygge feeling. The chairs are a vintage find, as are the French vegetable prints on the walls.

Cooking at Home

You’ll have everything you need: oven, induction cooktop, electric kettle, and a traditional Moka pot to make espresso coffee. Of course there’s tableware, pots and pans, and even a little electric whisk to froth your milk for cappuccinos.

Traveling with Kids?

We’ve got you covered. The little ones have their own tableware, a high chair, a cot, and even a foldable bathtub and toilet adapter if you need it.

The Bathroom

You’ll step up into a pre-bathroom area (it lights up automatically with a sensor so you won’t forget that step at night!). Here we have a treasure from a Lake Como artisan – a wooden desk that fits perfectly for makeup and hair. Then there’s the main bathroom with a design sink, shower, toilet, and bidet shower.

If Scandinavian Minimal is your style as well, come visit. We are looking forward to welcoming you!
